How to Clean/Disinfect Your Sink

When I was pregnant, every time I walked by the kitchen sink I had to run to the nearest trash can. I'm not sure if it was my super sensitive hyper active pregnancy nose or if it actually stunk but people weren't really coming in my house much anyway since I had just received a new job at the department of sleep and vomit. Anyway, thanks to pinterest I found a good way to clean the kitchen sink and here it is.

Start by rinsing the entire sink well. I read a blog once that said you should rinse your sink out well each time you use it to prevent acid from foods tarnishing the finish.

After rinsing the sink, sprinkle some baking soda over the bottom of the sink and use an old toothbrush to work that into a paste (pictured above). Scrub the sink with the baking soda paste and rinse thoroughly.

Soak some paper towels in white vinegar and cover the sink with the paper towels. Let the towels sit there for about 15-20 minutes and then remove and rinse the sink out again.

Finally, taking a clean dishcloth or rag, wash out the sink with warm soapy water. I use the blue dawn dish soap. Rinse one more time and vuala, you have a nice clean sink!

The lemon slices are really only there because it looks nice. I don't have a garbage disposal right now which has been a major struggle that I'm dealing with personally. :)
